When comparing mobility products, use the same pricing basis for every item. Our product pages show the recorded price including VAT and, where the retailer’s VAT rate is available, the corresponding amount excluding VAT. A price excluding VAT is not automatically the amount every shopper will pay.
Check eligibility with the retailer
VAT relief depends on both the person’s circumstances and the product. Being older does not by itself establish eligibility. The retailer can explain whether an item qualifies and what declaration is needed. See the official GOV.UK guidance on VAT relief for disabled people for the conditions.
Compare like for like
Our default price order uses prices including VAT so products are sorted consistently. When a product has different sizes or options, a “from” price refers to a starting price rather than every variant. Check which configuration it covers before comparing it with another product.
Look at the quantity supplied as well as the price. A photograph showing several items does not necessarily mean they are all included. Read the retailer’s description and confirm the model and quantity in the order summary.
Allow for other charges
The product price may not be the whole order cost. Check delivery, assembly or installation charges on the retailer’s site, where applicable. Confirm whether any optional service is selected at checkout. Our website does not take payment or calculate your final order total.
Why a product can disappear
We only display products with a confirmed positive price inside our price-checking period. If a record becomes too old or the price is missing, the product is hidden until its details are checked again. A previous price or screenshot should not be treated as a current offer.
Always confirm the retailer’s final price before paying. If the product, variant or price differs from what you expected, pause and ask the retailer to explain before placing the order.
